[2] Magic Rules Empty
PostSubject: [2] Magic Rules   [2] Magic Rules EmptyFri Jun 12, 2015 10:57 pm

Guys, this may be one of the most complicated magic systems you've ever seen but trust me. You'll catch onto it pretty quickly. Especially when you get to know the wand and when the wand gets to know you. So here we go.

Each wood has its own perks. This goes the same with the cores. Each combination of wood and core makes different effects. Some woods are especially good with charms or transfiguration while some may be better at offensive spells. However, cores may counter that. Say you have a willow wood wand with a phoenix feather core. Willow wands are excelent for charms and healing while phoenix feathers make a great variety in spells. However, the users of phoenix feather wands may take a little longer to master the spells. See? Willow is great at mastering charms and healing spells quickly while phoenix feather makes spells longer to learn. So how does this work? Well, the wood is dominate in situations like these. You will take a shorter amount of time to master healing and charms versus taking longer. However, with the rest of the spells, it would take longer to master.

Okay? Got the combinations of woods and cores? Great! Now we move onto the learning of spells.

Listen. You have to go by the rules of your wand when learning spells! There is a complete guide to woods and cores so you know your strengths and weaknesses. There's more though. Your character's personality will also effect your learning of spells. If your character is lazy, it would take longer to master spells. If your character is smart, it would take a shorter time. Oh! There's another thing! Word counts. To learn a certain spell, there will be a certain amount of words you have to write to learn the spell. Each word count will be listed at the beginning of a leson topic. You enter the topic and your word count begins. When another leson starts that teaches the same spell, you can carry on any left over words from the leson topic that ended. These words can ONLY be used for that spell though. Not only that but you have to link the topic that taught the spell so the professor can confirm that those are in fact, left over words.

We now know that you need a word count to learn spells, correct? Remember how I said that if you're smarter, you will learn spells faster? This is where intelligence points comes in. As you advance years, your intelligence will naturally increase by 5 points. On top of that, when making a character, you will notice the "stats" section. You can give yourself some intellignce stat points to start with there. The way intelligence points work is, every intelligence point you have gives you 1% off of the word count. It also improves the natural intelligence of your character.

You may be wondering what spells do what. All this knowledge will be revealed to you as you learn the spells so as of now, it is a secret. Trust me, it will make more sense to you as you gain the spells. Just be patient. Smile
